Nike and Kith continue their close relationship as the duo seek to create a sense of nostalgia for the footwear industry by bringing back one of Nike's most coveted models ever for the opening of Kith's Miami flagship. To do this, they are rewinding the clock to take fans back to a time where certain models were only available in one place at one time, and were released as regional exclusives. Although today these types of releases are almost unheard of, 15 years ago they were completely normal. To restore this lost art, Kith Miami will be launching the Nike Air Force 1 Linen as a global exclusive for its store opening during Basel. The Nike Air Force 1 Linen originally released as a regional exclusive in Japan in 2001 as part of Nike’s “Concept Japan” collection, and has not been released since. Now, Nike has brought back this iconic model as a 1-to-1 replica of its original, featuring a narrowed shape with incredibly premium leather and a neoprene liner. With a palette that perfectly combines South Beach's natural hues, the Linen will now be revived stateside and solely offered in-store at the all-new Kith Miami. To further commemorate this release and the opening of Kith Miami during Art Basel, Nike and Kith partnered to tap legendary contemporary artist Futura to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art in the window that celebrates the legendary artist’s evolution and introduces a new masterpiece. Futura’s signature fine lines and intrinsic inspiration capture the force of the modern legend in abstract form, giving further depth and dimension to the Uptown staple now reborn in Miami. Futura has also translated this vision into select custom Nike boxes that will contain the Linens and will be gifted to close friends and family of Kith. Kith Miami opens this Friday, December 2nd, and will be located at 1931 Collins Ave. The Nike Air Force 1 Linen will be raffled on four different days during the first two weeks of Kith Miami's opening, with the first day being December 2nd.
