Maharishi is a London-based streetwear label that was founded by Hardy Blechman. Through Blechman's various journeys across Southeast Asia, as well as having previously worked for a military surplus clothing supplier, he was able to utilize these experiences and build the Maharishi brand back in 1994. The word Maharishi is derived from the Sanskrit word for "great seer". Maharishi is best known for its core values of pacifism, ethically produced garments, and the history of camouflage. The label produces garments that depict the perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics. Dedicated to the use of organic cotton and hemp fabrication, Maharishi focuses on the use of the latest technology to deploy garments that are practical, long-lasting, and offer a unforgettable presence. Camouflage is frequently used in their designs, and is a signature for their utilitarian-styled offerings.
