For almost a decade, Ronnie Fieg has been credited with helping usher Asics into the sneaker spotlight by reinterpreting their archival silhouettes with his trademark material executions. Beginning in 2007, Fieg debuted his first collaborative Asics Gel-Lyte III to commercial and critical acclaim. Today, Fieg has 25 Gel-Lyte III designs under his belt, each with a different story and unique composition. To celebrate the finale of the Gel-Lyte III’s 25^th anniversary, Fieg draws inspiration from his past work to create a mismatched asymmetrical amalgamation of controlled chaos. This creation is titled – Homage.

This pair combines 13 of Fieg’s previous Gel-Lyte III’s, thus making the lateral and medial sides of both the left and right shoes individually distinct. Fieg selected the 13 designs based on what materials and colorways could cohesively create the strongest single pair of shoes. To further elevate this momentous release, each pair of Homage is accompanied by exquisite custom packaging. A one-piece box houses the pair along with a copy of Ronnie Fieg’s first authored book (also titled Homage), as well as 17 enamel pins (the 13 shoes incorporated and 4 different Homage pins), 13 mismatched laces, a swatch ring of every material used on the shoes, and lastly 13 individual Stance socks (each colored after the 13 pairs). 

The Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel-Lyte III Homage releases this Wednesday, December 23, at Kith’s Manhattan and Brooklyn locations, with women’s sizes also available at the new Kith Women store. An online release will occur the same day at 11AM EST on KithNYC.com.
