Nike Air Max Day Installation & Air Max Zero Release Info
Nike pushes the festivities of Air Max Day to the limit this year with the release of the 30 to 40-years in the making Nike Air Max Zero. This model, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was the predecessor to the groundbreaking Air Max lineage. To celebrate, KITH houses a custom installation by Nike that displays the remarkable history of their innovative footwear series. Located within KITH Manhattan, this install features numerous hanging air bubbles, as well as a central one that acts as the screen for Nike's latest Air Max Zero video. On the left side of our bleachers is a running text narrative describing the Air Max Zero, while the right side encases the Air Max family within illuminated air bubbles.
Of course predominantly displayed is the Nike Air Max Zero. This conceptual design utilizes a bootie-like construction utilizing a mixture of woven mesh and textile that comprises the entire upper around a neoprene inner-sock. White taped panels on the shoe maintain its lightweight nature, while its Swoosh logos and tongue labels are tonal 3M. The carved out midsole is made from Phylon and of course houses a visible air bubble. 3M laces woven through tonal grommets are the final touch on this remarkable model
