Kith Treats for E. Pellicci

In celebration of E. Pellicci’s 125th Anniversary, Kith Treats proudly honors East London’s legendary Italian-British café for the latest edition of The Heritage Program.

To maximize this spotlight on E. Pellicci, Kith Treats has partnered with The Infatuation, a publisher renowned for their honest and trustworthy restaurant reviews and situational dining guides, to amplify the Heritage Program initiative as the honoree advocate.

Each honoree inducted into the program is recognized with specialized programming shared through both entities’ editorial lenses, offering the honorees the opportunity to cater to a wider audience. For each installment of the Heritage Program, Kith Treats develops confections inspired by the honoree’s specialty offerings, which are then made available on Kith Treats’ menu for a limited time.

E. Pellicci was founded in 1900 by Priamo Pellicci. His wife Elide, whose first initial is the “E” in E. Pellicci, single-handedly raised seven children while running the café below to keep the family after Priamo’s passing in 1931. After Elide’s tenure ended, Nevio Pellicci Sr., who was born in the upstairs of the restaurant, took over the business until his passing in 2008. Today, Maria, Nevio Sr.'s wife, continues the tradition of cooking E. Pellicci's signature Italian dishes passed down through the family lineage, alongside third generation of the Pellicci family members Nevio Pellicci Jr. and his sister Anna Sereno.

The quaint Italian-British café is known for its warm, bustling atmosphere with friendly and often humorous staff members. The historic eatery feels like a second home to its countless daily visitors, who cherish its traditional English breakfasts and home-cooked Italian plates. E. Pellicci’s unchanged Art Deco interior boasts an ornate panelled wooden decor, carved by regular customer and carpenter Achille Capocci in 1946. Due to the unique nature of this intricately crafted interior, E. Pellicci was awarded Grade II listed status by English Heritage, designating it as a preserved historical landmark.

To honor the grand opening of Kith Treats’ latest London flagship, the confectionery has teamed up with the East London ​​trattoria to create two limited-edition ice cream specials inspired by their famous Chocolate Roly Poly and classic Bread Pudding. Each dessert highlights the Italian & British influences found throughout E. Pellicci’s menu, bridging over 125 years of E. Pellici’s storied history with Kith Treats’ decade-long journey of culinary creativity.
