Since being unearthed from the Asics archive last year, the Gel Lyte V silhouette has garnered universal acclaim. Coinciding with the release of the KITH Summer 2014 Collection are two global exclusive re-issue Gel Lyte V's presented in OG colorways not seen since their inception in 1993.

Originally developed to provide a lockdown yet lightweight fit for marathon runners, the Gel Lyte V was Asics's first model to stray from their previously used split-tongue design and opt for an inner-sock, which yielded superior cushioning. The thick flowing midsole contains three different Gel packs for featherweight support and incomparable comfort. Two OG colorways are resurrected solely for KITH, and fit seamlessly into the overall collection - Sky Blue/White/Black and Teal/Pink.

Both colorways feature a white mesh base with tonal suede overlays, as well as a neoprene sockliner with hits of 3M on the heel tab. The Sky Blue/White/Black model consists of sky blue colorblocking on the sockliner and quarter panels, while black hits are seen on the lower suede heel wrap, as well as the the white leather tiger stripe piping. All three colors are meshed to properly color the forefoot of the outsole, while the signature heel design is painted in a muted grey, complementing the overall appearance. The Teal/Pink iteration receives a teal neoprene sock with a vibrant pink lining. Teal coloring is located on the lower heel wrap and leather tiger stripe outlines, while pink is used for the mesh quarter panels. The outsole receives a similar colorblocking, with teal, pink, white, and black all coagulating for a lovely design aspect. The final touch on this version is the metallic silver heel design, indicative of its early 1990's birth. Each model comes with two sets of two-tone KITH rope laces as well.

The Asics Gel Lyte V OG - Sky Blue/White/Black and Teal/Pink are global exlusive re-issues solely available at KITH NYC in limited numbers, and are priced at $120 USD each. Both pairs will release with the KITH Summer 2014 Collection tomorrow, July 9th, at the Kith Pop-Up Shop at 66 Bleecker St. and Kith Brooklyn at 233 Flatbush Ave, as well as online at KithNYC.com at 11AM EST.
